Principles and Practice
The principles of chiropractic are based on two major premises. The first premise is that the body is a self-healing and self-regulating organism. There is an innate
intelligence within each individual which is responsible for all healing, growth, and development. When you cut your finger you do not have to think about healing the cut. Your body knows exactly what
needs to be done to stop the bleeding and heal the wound.
The second premise of chiropractic is that the nerve system - brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves - is the master coordinator of our innate intelligence. It is the nervous system that is responsible for
monitoring ALL functions in the body and initiating all actions that need to take place. When you run it is your nerve system that instructs the you muscles to contract. The nerve system then detects
a greater need for oxygen and thus tells your heart to beat faster and your lungs to breath faster. And then when you stop it is your nerve system that slows everything down again. Other functions like
digestion, sleeping, and healing are coordinated by the nerve system in the same manner.
The principles of chiropractic apply to all animals that have a nervous system and not just to humans. Animal chiropractic is used for both large animals like horses and cattle and small animals like cats and dogs.
The methods used are simpliar to those used on humans but have been modified to suite the specific anatomy of the animal.
Benefits
Animals respond tremendously fast to chiropractic care. Once the nerve system has been cleared of subluxations their body is able to heal as it was designed.
There have been many cases of dogs being able to walk again and cats change their personality from hissing at everyone to very cuddly and affectionate.
Chiropractic also helps bring wellness to an animals life. By keeping the nerve system clear of subluxation your pet will be able to enjoy life to their fullest.
